The Challenge

Part of UTS - but it didn't look like it

ActivateFit.Gym is the onsite fitness facility at the University of Technology Sydney: modern, spacious and affordable, open to students and the general public alike, with open gym access and fitness classes across a range of membership packages.

Measured against what members actually need, the existing website was falling short on both user experience and functionality. It also sat inside the UTS ecosystem without showing it, which costs a facility the credibility that association is worth. The brief was to fix how the site works and where it visibly belongs, not simply to refresh how it looks.

The website wasn't delivering on user experience or functionality.

Membership in the UTS ecosystem wasn't reflected in the design or branding.

One site had to serve students and the general public equally.

What We Did

Built to work, built to belong

We designed and developed the site as one piece of work, exploring creative angles and design concepts in depth before settling on the approach. The result is thoughtfully designed UI/UX sitting on clean code, easy to navigate for both audiences, and visually connected to the UTS ecosystem the facility belongs to.
