Introduction
This website is owned and operated by Mo Works Pty Ltd (ABN 83 166 646 368). In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" refer to Mo Works Pty Ltd, and "you" and "your" refer to you, the user.
This policy explains how we collect, use, hold, disclose and protect personal information, in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). It applies to our website, our marketing and outreach, our dealings with prospective and current clients, suppliers and contractors, and people who apply to work with us.
Where we handle personal information on behalf of a client as part of delivering our services, we do so under our agreement with that client and, where applicable, a Data Processing Addendum — those terms also apply.
By using our website or providing information to us, you agree to this policy. We may update it from time to time (see Changes to this policy).
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.
Information we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
- Contact & identity details — name, business email, phone, organisation, job title and postal address.
- Enquiry details — your sector, the challenge you describe, and anything you tell us through our forms, email, phone or booking tool.
- Client & project information — details needed to scope, quote and deliver services, including billing and payment details.
- Supplier & contractor details — for the people and businesses we engage.
- Candidate information — CVs, work history, portfolios and application details (see Recruitment and candidates).
- Marketing information — your preferences and whether you open or engage with our emails.
- Technical & usage information — IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, referring site and similar analytics data collected via cookies.
We generally collect personal information directly from you. Sometimes we collect it from publicly available sources (such as your organisation's website or LinkedIn) or from third parties such as referrers, partners and the platforms we use.
We do not seek to collect sensitive information. Please do not send us sensitive information unless we have asked for it and it is necessary.
How we use your information
We use personal information to:
- respond to your enquiry and provide the information or service you request;
- provide, manage and improve our services, and manage our relationship with you;
- prepare proposals, quotes and agreements, and administer billing;
- manage our contacts in our customer relationship management (CRM) system and related workflows;
- send marketing and updates where permitted, and manage our outreach;
- advertise and measure the performance of our marketing;
- assess candidates who apply to work with us;
- run, secure, analyse and improve our website; and
- meet our legal, regulatory, insurance and record-keeping obligations, and protect our rights and those of our clients.
We will only use your information for a purpose you would reasonably expect, a purpose we have told you about, or as permitted or required by law.
Forms, our CRM and automation
When you submit a form on our website (such as the contact form), book a meeting, or email us, your details are recorded in our customer relationship management (CRM) system.
We use this to route your enquiry to the right person, respond to you, keep a history of our communications, and manage our sales and client relationships.
Some of these processes are automated. For example, a form submission may create or update a contact record, notify or assign a task to a team member, or add you to a follow-up or onboarding sequence. Automated steps are supported by human review and are not used to make decisions that have a legal or similarly significant effect on you.
You can ask us to access, correct or delete your contact record, or to stop marketing to you, at any time (see Your rights and choices).
Marketing, email and outreach
Where permitted, we may send you marketing about our services, insights and events by email or other channels. We use email marketing and automation tools to send and schedule these messages and to see whether they were opened or clicked.
We may also carry out business-to-business outreach to organisations and professionals we believe may be interested in our services, including by email and through professional networks such as LinkedIn.
We handle marketing in accordance with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe option, and you can opt out at any time by using it or emailing us. We will action opt-outs promptly. Operational messages (such as replies to your enquiry or messages about a current project) are not marketing and will continue.
Advertising and remarketing
We advertise our services online, including through platforms such as Google, Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and LinkedIn.
These platforms may use cookies, pixels and similar technologies on our website to measure our advertising and to show you our ads on their platforms and others, including remarketing, where you may see our ads after visiting our site. This can involve sharing limited information (such as a cookie, device identifier or hashed identifier) with those platforms.
You can manage ad personalisation through your account settings on those platforms, through your browser and device settings, and through our cookie controls.
Cookies and analytics
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to make the site work, remember your preferences, understand how the site is used, and support our marketing and advertising.
We use analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) to understand traffic and improve the site. These collect information such as your IP address, device and browser, the pages you view and how you arrived.
Most browsers let you accept or refuse cookies. Where required, we ask for your consent to non-essential cookies through the banner on our site. If you refuse non-essential cookies, some features may not work as intended.
AI and automated tools
We use a range of software, including artificial intelligence (AI) and automation, to help run our business, for example to draft and review content, analyse information, manage our CRM and marketing, support research, and assist with recruitment.
We apply human review to AI-assisted work. We do not use AI to make decisions that have a legal or similarly significant effect on you without human involvement.
When we use third-party AI or automation tools, your information is handled under those providers' terms and settings. We take reasonable steps not to input sensitive or confidential information into publicly available AI tools unless appropriate privacy and security protections are in place.
Recruitment and candidates
If you apply to work with us (for example via career@moworks.com.au) or express interest in a role, we collect the information in your application, such as your name, contact details, CV, work history, portfolio, and information provided by referees.
We may also collect information from professional networks such as LinkedIn, and we may use recruitment, sourcing, screening and interview tools, including AI-assisted tools on platforms such as LinkedIn, to help us identify, contact and assess candidates. Any AI-assisted screening is reviewed by a person, and hiring decisions are made by our team, not by an automated tool alone.
We use candidate information to assess suitability, communicate with you, and keep our recruitment records. If you are unsuccessful, we may keep your details for a reasonable period in case a suitable role arises, unless you ask us not to.
Meeting bookings
When you book a consultation through our booking link, we use Google's calendar and scheduling tools. The details you provide when booking (such as your name, email and any notes) are used to schedule and manage the meeting and are recorded in our systems.
Google processes this information under its own terms and privacy policy.
Who we share it with
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We may share it with:
- our team;
- our service providers and contractors who help us run our business; including our CRM, email, analytics, advertising, hosting, cloud, payment and AI-tool providers;
- our professional advisers and insurers; and
- law enforcement, regulators or others where required or permitted by law, or to protect our rights.
Our service providers are only permitted to use your information to provide their services to us. Where we handle personal information on behalf of a client, we do so under our agreement with that client and any Data Processing Addendum.
Overseas disclosure
Some of the providers and tools we use store or process information outside Australia (for example in the United States or other countries). Where we disclose personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the APPs; however, overseas recipients may be subject to different laws.
Data security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Our team and contractors are bound by confidentiality obligations.
No system is completely secure. If a data breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm, we will respond in accordance with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme under the Privacy Act.
In the case of content violations or breaches of applicable law, we will cooperate with law enforcement.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law (for example tax and record-keeping obligations), and then take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.
Your rights and choices
You can ask us to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it if it is inaccurate, or delete it, and you can opt out of marketing at any time.
To make a request, email work@moworks.com.au. We will respond within a reasonable time and may need to verify your identity.
If you are concerned about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or 1300 363 992.
Third-party links
Our website may link to other sites. We have no control over their content or practices and are not responsible for how they treat your information. This policy covers only our website. If our assets are transferred through a sale or restructure, user information may be included; by providing your information you acknowledge this may occur.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes are effective when posted, so please review it regularly. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
