Armed with our posters, flyers, business cards and most importantly, our dazzling smiles, the Mo Works team entered the eCommerce Conference & Expo determined to spread the word about our innovative approach to ecommerce. Being the only event in Australia where the businesses and thought leaders who are tackling the challenges of a changing ecommerce and digital landscape are plonked in the same room, we knew this was the place to make a splash.

As first timers at the eCommerce Conference & Expo, we were excited by the prospect of rubbing shoulders with the best in the ecommerce biz. We joined digital marketers, payment management strategists, logistics experts and many other players in the ecommerce game, to give advice to all those who were wandering the aisles and looking to take their business to the next level. It was the ideal forum to focus attention on the challenges that businesses and brands are facing, and help individuals devise strategies to overcome these challenges.

MEETING AND GREETING

As soon as it hit 10am on Day 1 the floodgates opened and we were bombarded with questions left, right and centre! The crowds were certainly enough to keep the team busy, and it was great to hear the many fresh and exciting ideas from people at different stages of development of their ecommerce business.

SECRETS TO SUCCESS

As exhibitors we were lucky enough to be granted access to the conference side of the event, so we could be flies on the wall as some of the most successful people in the world of ecommerce shared their esteemed advice. Samantha Kent, International Director of JackThreads made the journey all the way from New York to be the International Keynote Speaker, while a plethora of local talent including Julie Stevanja, Co-Founder of Stylerunner, and Col Kennedy, Global Head of Marketing and eCommerce at Cotton On Group, also stopped by to share their wisdom.

We were particularly taken with Holly Locastro, Creator & Marketing Consultant at The Marketing Project, and her talk on the important role that online marketing plays in the growth of B2Bs. One of her most important advice: strategy is key!

NEW FRIENDSHIPS FORMED

The eCommerce Conference & Expo was a great opportunity for us to meet people who are just as passionate about ecommerce as we are. We want to thank everyone who attended the event and stopped by our booth to say hello, and also all our fellow exhibitors who took the time to swing past and introduce themselves.

We are a little biased but it was particularly great to meet talent from our very own hometown of Melbourne, including Steven Lord and the Digital Next team, because a smile like that is sure to put our city on the map!

We are looking forward to keeping in touch with everyone we met at the event and hopefully working together on projects in the near future.
